I was born in Chelmsford in 1980 where I lived and went to school until I was sixteen. At that time I started work at Bradwell Outdoor Education Centre as a trainee instructor training canoeing, sailing, kayaking and archery. I was there for seven years during which time I gained a number of National Governing Body Awards as above. In addition I gained my NVQ Level 3 qualification in Leisure & Recreation.
In 2004 I was successful in securing a new position in the Lake District as an instructor at the Derwent Water Marina. I was then progressively promoted to senior instructor and finally to Water Sports Manager which is my current position. During this time I also gained my NVQ Level 4 qualification in Management (Sports & Leisure)
My professional career has given me the opportunity to continue and progress my sporting interests in particular canoeing and kayaking and I am very grateful to my current employer who has given me the opportunity and encouragement to do so.
